Programs & Services
F&CS is a multiservice community-based organization that supports underserved and socially vulnerable populations to build stable, productive, and healthy lives. This is accomplished through a range of programs offered directly or in collaboration with other organizations in Lynn, Chelsea, and surrounding communities such as Charlestown, East Boston, Lynn, and Winthrop.
We provide programming under two main categories of service: Family Services and Youth Services. In our Family Services, we offer center-based, community-based, and home-based services that foster healthy parenting and child development. Our Family Resource Center offers parenting education, support groups, and developmental screenings for preschool-aged children. Home-based parenting support is also offered through multiple programs, including our evidence-based Parents as Teachers (PAT) and Healthy Families Harbor Area (HFHA) programs. Our Family Alliance program is a 90-day family stabilization intervention for DCF-involved families with documented instances of child abuse or neglect. Finally, we offer a Youth Parents Support (YPS) program for parents up to age 24 who receive support in achieving their personal, educational, and vocational goals while raising young children. Our Youth Services are designed to promote self-esteem, personal safety, and academic excellence, and community engagement among our youth. These programs help strengthen the internal assets and social competencies of youth. Youth may also take part in our recently new Youth Leadership Academy (YLA) that includes a civic engagement curriculum (VOICES) offered within a service-learning model to develop problem-solving, leadership skills, and sense of civic pride.
