Selvin Chambers, III, Executive Director
Selvin Chambers joined the staff of Family & Children's Service with 20 years of experience in non-profit and local government work along with extensive business development expertise. He previously served as Executive Director of BUILD Boston, the Margaret Fuller House in Cambridge, Root NS, Inc. in Salem, the Elizabeth Peabody House in Somerville, and The Food Project in Lynn.
His other prior executive and managerial positions include serving as the Metro Boston Regional Director for the Trustees of Reservations, Director of Youth Development and Family Services at the Boston Center for Youth & Families, Division Head for Cambridge Youth Program for the City of Cambridge Department of Human Services, and interim Chief Operating Officer for the United South End Settlements. He also served as a senior fellow for the Institute for Nonprofit Practice at Tufts University’s Tisch College.
Selvin is a proud graduate of Fitchburg State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology. He also holds a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from the Boston University School of Management, and a Certificate in Strategic Perspectives in Non-Profit Management from the Harvard Business School. In his spare time, he likes to read, travel, workout, volunteer, play basketball, and spend time with family.
