Divorcing Parent Education Program

Understanding the Effects of Divorce on Children - A Parent Education Program

Approved by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Probate and Family Court

When parents seek to end their marriage, it is a time of great change for the whole family.  Not surprisingly, this can be a difficult and confusing time for children. One with implications for their behavior and development. It is also a time when parents are distracted and stressed by the process of divorce.

For this reason, Family & Children’s Service of Greater Lynn, offers a parent education program to help separating or divorcing parents and their children.

The Parent Education Program offers a two session workshop to help parents learn about the needs of their children, and ultimately themselves, during the process of separation/divorce.  Each session lasts for 2 1/2 hours and is led by a male and female professional team approved by the Massachusetts Probate and Family Courts.

The evening workshops are scheduled on a monthly basis.  Parents receive a certificate of attendance after completing both sessions.  Pre-registration is required.

Participation will fulfill the requirements of all Massachusetts Probate and Family Courts.
