Emergency Financial Assistance Program (EFA) is a Special Fund Program of the United Way, administered locally by Family & Children’s Service of Greater Lynn, Inc.  The fund helps provide for emergency assistance to families and individuals living in Lynn, Saugus, Nahant, Lynnfield, and Swampscott. 

The focus of the help is as a “last resort," when all other entitlement and government funded aid has been exhausted. Needs such as: eviction, utility, and heating costs are considered emergencies.  All potential recipients must personally set up appointment and provide documentation. Unfortunately, money runs out quickly and may not always be available.
