Ways of Giving to Family & Children's Service of Greater Lynn

F&CS is a tax-exempt 501(C)3 organization, and all donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.  We accept gifts of cash, stock, personal property, in-kind and deferred gifts.  Because each method has its own specific tax benefits that may change with each tax year, donors should tailor their gift to the method that best suits their personal needs.  Gifts of all types can be restricted for their use as well as named in memory or honor of a loved one.

Annual Giving Fund -  The Annual Giving Fund is comprised of unrestricted giving that supports all agency programs, activities and operations.  Staff salaries and training, program supplies and activities, transportation costs, technology, and building maintenance are all funded in part by annual giving.  The agency puts these gifts to use where they are needed most.

Memorial Gift  - A gift in memory of someone you love or admire can be a particularly meaningful way to contribute to the Annual Giving Fund.  We will notify the individual or family of this thoughtful and generous gesture according to your instructions.

Matching Gift – Many corporations participate in an employee matching gift program.  Check with your Human Resources Department to see if your employer will match your contributions to Family & Children’s Service of Greater Lynn, Inc.

Capital Gifts/Endowment Funds -  Capital gifts are gifts specifically restricted (by the donor) for capital needs that include endowment funds as well as funds for construction or renovation of permanent facilities.  Endowment funds provide financial stability and help ensure F&CS for future generations.

Planned or Deferred Gifts: - A gift to F&CS via your estate planning or will leaves a lasting legacy and provides tax advantages for your family.  A simple bequest via your will is encouraged by F&CS and is the simplest of the deferred giving vehicles.  Charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts and other planned gifts will require the careful consideration of your attorney and tax advisors but may offer substantial tax savings for yourself and your heirs.

Please consult your accountant, lawyer or tax advisor for details regarding

the tax advantages of a particular gift type.
